The implementation you have described for the vehicle odometer and trip meter seems well thought out and user-friendly. Having separate odometer and trip meter displays is a useful feature for tracking total distance and shorter trips separately. The automatic mileage tracking per vehicle will make it convenient for users to keep a record of their vehicle usage without manual intervention.

The ability to toggle between metric (km) and imperial (mi) units is a great addition since it caters to users with different preferences or from regions that use different measurement systems.

The functionality of using the 'O' key to switch between odometer and trip meter is a simple and intuitive way for users to access the different displays. Additionally, the feature of resetting the trip meter by holding the 'O' key for one second is a convenient method that prevents accidental resets.

With these features in place, users will have a seamless experience monitoring their vehicle mileage and tracking their trips accurately. The automation of mileage saving enhances user convenience and eliminates the need for manual record-keeping.
