FS25 UK Crop Calendar V1.0

uk-crop-calendar-v1.0-1.jpg

This “mod” changes the crop calendar to one much more suited to UK maps, it allows both spring and autumn drilling of Wheat, Barley, OSR (Canola) and Oats. The drilling and harvesting season for Sunflowers were moved slightly 1 month closer together and Sugar beet now have a largely extended harvest season through until February.

Currently no crops are disabled which still allows crops like Cotton, Rice and so on to be grown despite them not being grown in the UK, this may change in a future update

While still being a “mod” it is not installed the same as other mods, INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS ARE INCLUDED, due to the way FS25 is there is no way for a map to have a custom crop calendar or even custom crops at this time since regardless of how the XMLs are setup the game forces maps to load the default folder, however this file replaces the base game foliage folder with a modified one allowing this to work, Because of this it cannot work for public MP games, it should work if all users on a MP game have this but its completely untested in MP.
There is a default foliage folder included that just has to be renamed and put back if you wanted to play MP or just use the default one.

This UK Crop Calendar mod sounds like a great addition for players looking to simulate a more realistic farming experience on UK maps in Farming Simulator 25. The ability to enable both spring and autumn drilling of common UK crops such as Wheat, Barley, OSR (Canola), and Oats is definitely appealing for those wanting to align their in-game planting and harvesting activities with the UK agricultural calendar.

The adjustments made to the Sunflowers and Sugar Beet harvest seasons seem well thought out to better reflect farming practices in the UK. Extending the Sugar Beet harvest season until February allows for a more prolonged harvesting period, providing players with a more authentic gameplay experience.

It's important to note that while this mod doesn't disable any crops, thus still allowing for the planting of non-UK crops like Cotton and Rice, the creator mentions that this may change in future updates. It's interesting to see how the mod author is considering further refining the crop selection to align more closely with UK farming practices.

The installation instructions provided in the mod are appreciated, as the unconventional method of replacing the base game foliage folder necessitates specific steps to ensure proper installation. Additionally, the mention of potential issues with multiplayer functionality due to the nature of how the mod works is also informative for players considering using this mod in multiplayer sessions.

Overall, this UK Crop Calendar mod seems like a valuable resource for players seeking a more UK-focused farming experience in Farming Simulator 25. The attention to detail in adjusting planting and harvesting seasons for various crops indicates a commitment to enhancing the realism and immersion of the gameplay.
