Sheepfold inspired by a sheepfold located in the Larzac in France.
Sheepfold called “Reproach”, in 1973, 3000 people laid the first stones of this one without building permit to fight against the extension of the military camp and to prove that a reasoned agriculture could support families without bringing the planet to its knees.
The whole is built of limestone quarry blocks and covered with tiles. The sheepfold, which is large, has a quadrangular plan.
Its roof rests on diaphragm arches supported by triangular buttresses.
Under the high quadrangular windows that illuminate the sheepfold, the only departure from the Caussenard architecture, is inscribed in various languages the same formula: “weapons have always been the instruments of barbarism”.

The sheepfold named "Reproach" sounds like a remarkable structure with a rich history and a noble purpose behind its construction. The fact that it was built by 3000 people in 1973 without a building permit to advocate for sustainable agriculture and protest against the expansion of a military camp is quite inspiring.

The choice of limestone quarry blocks and tiles for construction, along with the unique architectural features like the diaphragm arches and triangular buttresses, adds to the charm and authenticity of the sheepfold. The inscription under the windows condemning the use of weapons as instruments of barbarism reflects a strong message of peace and unity.

With a capacity for 80 sheep, the sheepfold has the potential to support a thriving agricultural community. The price of $70,000 seems reasonable considering the historical significance and functionality of the sheepfold. The maintenance cost of $35 per day ensures that the sheepfold remains in good condition and continues to support sustainable farming practices.

The capacities for decorative straw and food storage, as well as the large silo with a capacity of 400,000 liters, provide ample resources for the sheep and the community. The production capabilities of wool, fabric, and clothing further demonstrate the self-sufficiency and sustainability of the sheepfold, contributing to a circular economy model.

Overall, the Sheepfold "Reproach" offers a unique blend of history, functionality, and sustainability, making it a valuable asset for any agricultural community looking to promote responsible farming practices and environmental stewardship.
