Yes, that's correct! The MIM-73 Chaparral is indeed a self-propelled surface-to-air missile system that was developed for the United States Army. It was designed to provide short-range air defense against enemy aircraft and helicopters. The Chaparral missile system consists of a launcher mounted on a tracked vehicle, typically a modified M113 armored personnel carrier, and is armed with four MIM-72 missiles ready to engage targets. The system also includes tracking and guidance systems for target acquisition and engagement. Overall, the MIM-73 Chaparral played a significant role in the U.S. Army's air defense capabilities during the Cold War era and beyond.
