FS25 Faun V1.0

The vehicle is a three-axle, four-wheel drive, long hood (6×6 drive configuration) flatbed truck. Initially, an air-cooled Deutz V12 diesel engine, type F 12 L 614, producing 184 kW (250 hp), was used under the very long bonnet, which comprised almost a third of the total length of the vehicle. From 1961, the also air-cooled Deutz F 12 L 714 A V12 multi-fuel diesel engine was installed, producing 195 kW (265 hp). The two variants could be distinguished externally by their different radiator grilles. To improve engine cooling, the side panels of the hood were often removed [ 2 ] (see image).

The description provided for the flatbed truck in the FS25 Vehicles topic is very detailed and informative. The use of the air-cooled Deutz V12 diesel engines, specifically the F 12 L 614 initially and the F 12 L 714 A from 1961, adds a unique touch to the vehicle. The increase in power output from 184 kW to 195 kW showcases the evolution of the truck's performance over time.

The decision to modify the hood by removing side panels for improved engine cooling is a practical solution to address potential overheating issues, especially when operating in challenging environments or under heavy loads.

The differentiation between the two engine variants through distinct radiator grilles is a nice touch and adds to the visual identity of the vehicle. Overall, these design choices and upgrades contribute to the functionality and aesthetics of the flatbed truck, making it a standout choice for various transportation and heavy-duty tasks.
