Real soil moisture physics. Heat evaporates. Rain replenishes. Sandy soil drains fast; clay holds longer. When moisture drops below critical thresholds during the windows that matter most — wheat during heading, corn during pollination — stress accumulates and your yield shrinks. Place a center-pivot irrigator, schedule it, and protect what you’ve grown.

QUICK START:
1. Load your farm — moisture monitoring activates immediately
2. Press Shift+M → open the Field Moisture HUD
3. Click a field → see its 5-day moisture forecast strip
4. Press Shift+C → open the Crop Consultant for risk summary
5. Green = healthy · Yellow = needs attention · Red = irrigate NOW
6. Place a Water Pump near water, then a Center Pivot within 500m
7. Press E near the pivot (or Shift+I) → set your irrigation schedule
8. At harvest, drought-stressed fields yield less — plan ahead

The new mod for FS25, Seasonal Crop Stress V1.0.1, introduces realistic soil moisture physics to the game, adding an extra layer of challenge and strategy to crop management. The mod reflects the impact of heat, evaporation, rain, and soil type on the moisture levels in your fields. Different types of soil, such as sandy or clay, have varying abilities to retain moisture.

During critical growth stages like wheat heading or corn pollination, maintaining adequate moisture levels becomes crucial. If moisture levels drop below certain thresholds during these critical stages, crops will experience stress, leading to reduced yields. By carefully monitoring the moisture levels in your fields using the Field Moisture HUD and the Crop Consultant tool, you can identify fields that require immediate attention.

To combat moisture stress, players can install a Water Pump near a water source and a Center Pivot irrigation system within 500m of the field. Setting an irrigation schedule through the mod allows you to efficiently water your crops and protect them from drought stress. Neglecting to irrigate your fields can result in lower yields at harvest time, emphasizing the importance of forward planning and proactive crop management.

The mod offers a challenging gameplay experience for both single-player and multiplayer modes, with support for multiple languages and features like persistent saves.
